Using OpenVPN Configuration Files
Download the OctaneVPN .ovpn file here. Copy the .ovpn file to your home directory.
-
OpenVPN config files (.ovpn) offer an easy way to configure OpenVPN on your computer to work with our servers. These files contain the correct cipher types, Certificate Authority, Certificate, and Private Keys. You can use these files on Mac, Linux, Windows, Android, and iOS.
-
The default .ovpn on our site is pre-configured for our Washington, DC gateway. You can change the gateway by opening the .ovpn file in any editor and changing the third line in the file. It will look like this:
-
remote gw1.iad1.octanevpn.com 443
-
Change the gw1.iad1 part to any of the locations listed here
-
Save each edit as 'london.ovpn', 'miami.ovpn', etc. to have multiple locations available.
